Get on the train!

The results are in, the votes have been tallied. Ask any marketing professional and they will tell you that social media is here to stay! Many are even saying, "companies not wading into the social media tide will be left high and dry in a few short years." Wow! That should at least begin to make you want to get on the train!

It is my personal opinion (and the opinion of many industry leaders) that traditional forms of advertising, that have been hot for the last 20 or so years, are going to 'expire' in the next decade. Online communication is going to be the highest platform any business can use to communicate with their customers and prospects. Social media is going to be in the lead in the next five years.

Now, if you want to take action, but don't know where to start, schedule an HOUR with me. ONE hour and I will get you set up on some sites, and explain how to access the correct information, how to post, and some tactics on how to use these essential tools to promote YOUR business.

Don't let the train pass you by, because you will spend YEARS running after it and probably never catch up!

Social Media for Beginners

Do you, small business owner, use social networking/social media to market your business? If yes, GREAT! Keep it up, continue to educate yourself about new sites and new information to help you grow your business.

If you do not use social networking, yet, it's time to get a move on!

First of all, it's free advertising! Secondly, it helps you expand your networking circle, quickly! Thirdly, it helps you increase your search engine presence.

Think of social networking as being your sales and marketing team at work; this is how you get your message, your business, and your product out there to the public. It is the place for you to share your knowledge and your expertise in your field.

To get started, figure out who you want to bring into your network. Who do you want to target with your social networking efforts? Then begin the research - which social networking tools will be most beneficial to you? Is it Facebook, LinkedIn, Blogger.com, YouTube, Digg, Netlog, or one of the many others?

Then, pick a few to focus on. Develop your detailed profile on these networking sites - make them content-rich, and begin to build your network. Invite everyone in your contact lists to join you, and you will watch your circle of friends (and potential clients!) grow.

Stay tuned for more information on this subject in later blogs!
